First Of The Season!

The wife and I hit Whitman's Pond around 4:30. We weren't getting any bites until a friendly angler gave us their left over worms. I immediately landed two sunnies. My wife, being a vegetarian, doesn't fish. But while I was working a senko, the bobber dipped on the other line. I told her I couldn't put my rod down (big lie) and that she needed to reel in the other one. Of course, it was very exciting for her. Now I just need to get her to hook into a bass... She caught a Golden Shiner, about 8" long. I finished the day with my first bass on a baby bass Senko. Got my first fish of the season, first bass of the season, and I got my wife to catch a fish! A good day.

  • maybe for a striper! :)

  • fine bait that shiner !

  • I wasn't sure what it was when we first landed it. Thankfully I had my trusty Guide to New England Freshwater Species

  • Cool nice work. I have fished here forever and never caught one of those.
