First Try At Jacobs Pond
Tried out Jacobs with my dad after a trip to Dick's Sporting Goods. We've heard a lot about the pond on MAFF and it was close, so what the heck. The evening was pretty dead, although my dad caught a little yellow perch. Some guy on a kayak also caught his personal best (5.5 lbs) and told us about it. No fish for me though. Great place to fish. Super quiet and plenty of spots to fish the shore or get a boat in.
I fish there in a kayak. Launch in the river down back.
Did you go off the dock or did you bring a boat?
I know they did a couple of years ago. Went over this morning and the weeds weren't bad at all. Got 7 or 8 bass all under 2lb. 3 picks, a couple of crappie and a couple of perch. Lost a few fish and had plenty of strikes. Not a bad morning.
I think they sprayed last year.
I was only fishing off the dock so I didn't get to see much of the pond, but the weeds weren't too bad from where I was, although I did get caught up on almost every cast on little bits of weeds.
I haven't made it over there this season yet. How is the weed situation?
