Oldham Pond

Took a ride down to Pembroke after work yesterday to check out Oldham Pond since I'd never been there before. Of course it was windy as hell. Went straight across to the big island to get out of the wind but had no luck there. Moved over to the shoreline and was casting a Rapala 7-11' crankbait. My buddy was throwing the sexy shad lipless crank. He hooked up with the first fish. A 13 inch LMB. His 2nd was a good size perch. My first fish was a giant crappie. I've never caught one even close to that size. Darren caught another perch and I caught a white perch. The wind was blowing us all over the place. I'm thinking about getting a wind sock (my boat's a cartopper). If anyone uses one or has any experience with one any reviews or remarks are appreciated. The last fish of the day was a LMB that was 13-14 inches. All in all it wasn't a bad 3 hours and now I know where the lake is. See you guys back there on the 22nd.
